Manchester United's Luke Shaw impressed for England as they won 2-0 in a World Cup Qualifier against Albania.
England maintained their winning start to the 2022 World Cup qualifying campaign with a comfortable victory.
It was also a good moment for the recalled Luke Shaw, his impressive form for Manchester United this season merited his inclusion in the squad.
Southgate probably had his ideal Euro 2020 starting line-up fixed in his mind but Shaw, who has assisted goals in his last three England starts, is starting to look the favourite to start at left back ahead of Chelsea's Ben Chilwell.
Shaw was joined in England's starting 11 by fellow United defender Harry Maguire.
What's being said about Shaw?
Luke Shaw gets an assist on his England return. You absolutely love to see it from the best left-back in the Premier League.

- Lost his place in the England squad
- Suffered a horrific leg break which kept him out for a year
- Dragged publicly by Mourinho
- Now back to his best, back in the England squad and assisting.
No matter the club you support, you've got to be happy for Luke Shaw. pic.twitter.com/evuoVfVJbh
