Manchester United believe Tahith Chong will gain important first-team experience in the upcoming campaign by joining Birmingham City on a season-long loan.
Chong spent the first half of the last season with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga before a January switch to Club Brugge, where he won the Belgian First Division.

The Netherlands Under-21 international will remain with United for the beginning of pre-season before joining up with the Blues at an agreed time ahead of their Championship campaign.
The youngster featured in 44 senior games across England, Germany and Belgium. Chong clearly has an excellent range of experiences for a player of his age.
Chong spoke with the Birmingham City website about the move:
“I spoke to the Manager here and heard about the plans the Club has for this season and for me as well.
“He spoke to me about some improvement points and I’m looking forward to working with him. I want to come here and become a better player and develop."
He isn't the first Manchester United player to have made a move to Birmingham. Jesse Lingard previously enjoyed a spell at St Andrew's. Lingard made his Birmingham debut in August and scored an incredible four goals that day against Sheffield Wednesday.
