Eric Cantona had signed for United and things were starting to improve. Following two draws over Christmas, United scored five against Coventry. They than navigated a potentially tricky cup match against Bury.
It was a match against Tottenham when fans really started to believe again.
United won 4-1 and the match included Eric Cantona's favourite moment. Remember this scene from 'Looking For Eric'.
United were top but then a few weeks later came unstuck against Ipswich.
How were Man City doing?
City had a great month in January 1993. They won three out of four matches and fans were perhaps starting to think about Europe.They also progressed in the Fa Cup, despite being taken to a replay by Reading.
What about Oldham?
Things started to go wrong in the league for Oldham and following an exit from the FA Cup, priorities were now on simply staying in the Premier League
What happened next?
It was joyous and dramatic ending to the season for some of our clubs whilst being fairly dull for others.
