This time we're looking at Manchester United v Sheffield Wednesday from February 1958. It was the first United game after Munich and was an emotional night at Old Trafford.

What happened?

Almost 60,000 people turned up for the first game after Munich and it was an emotional atmosphere at Old Trafford.

The team sheet in United Review was left blank, as Jimmy Murphy only managed to get the team together at the last minute.  The team played a part in keeping United going. 

It was ultimately a comfortable night on the pitch for Manchester United. Shay Brennan scored twice and Alex Dawson got one aswell.

The eventual run to the 1958 Fa Cup final put United on the road to recovery.
