Man City keep being linked with the Argentinian superstar but face competition from PSG if he chooses to leave Barcelona.
It has been reported that Manchester City have slashed their contract offer to Lionel Messi by around £170million.
This means that the five-year deal, which they offered six months ago, is now worth £430million rather than the original amount of £600million.
Many believe that Messi will leave the Nou Camp when his contract expires at the end of the 2020/2021 season.
The Mirror has reported that City would want to tie Messi down to a two-year playing deal at the Etihad, with the option of extending this by another 12 months.
The six-time Ballon d'Or winner would then be required to play two more seasons in the MLS with Manchester City's sister club New York City.
This video, uploaded to YouTube in December 2020, shows 643 of his goals for Barcelona.
If Lionel Messi signs for City, you'd have to wonder if Cristiano Ronaldo would fancy a return to Old Trafford?
A final battle in the Premier League to answer the question that has been discussed endlessly for the last twelve years.
Which is the better player, Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi?
