Move to Bolton
Okocha joined Bolton Wanderers on a free transfer after leaving PSG in the summer of 2002. He quickly became a favourite with the Bolton fans. The Nigerian was a key part of a Bolton side that established themselves in the Premier League. They had previously been promoted in 2001.
As captain he led Bolton to their first cup final in nine years where they finished runners-up in the 2004 Football League Cup to Middlesbrough.

International career
He played 73 times for Nigeria and scored 14 teams.
