Manchester United To Face A.S. Roma In Europa League Semi-Final

Manchester United will face A.S Roma in the semi-final of the Europa League after a 4-0 aggregate win over Granada.

Old Trafford, Manchester

United's progress was never in doubt after Edinson Cavani provided a smart finish to Paul Pogba's header which extended their aggregate lead to 3-0, after a 2-0 win at Granada last week.

United made it 2-0 on the night in stoppage time when Jesus Vallejo accidentally turned Alex Telles' cross into his own goal.

It was a notable night too for Edinson Cavani. He scored his first European goal for Manchester United, his 50th in total in European football competition. There has been some debate recently about whether the forward will sign a new contract with United.

Onwards to a reunion with Chris Smalling

A.S Roma held their nerve in their quarter-final which means former United players Chris Smalling and Henrikh Mkhitaryan returning to Old Trafford for the semi-final.

Smalling played over 300 times for United over nine seasons.

One of the most memorable encounters between United and Roma when the reds put seven past their Italian opponents.

What stat?

Manchester United have reached their 18th semi-final in all European competitions. Only Liverpool have appeared in more amongst the English sides.
