A disappointing performance resulted in Manchester United being knocked out of the Fa Cup by Leicester City.
Ole Solskjaer mixed things up with his team selection. He left two of his outstanding recent performers Bruno Fernandes and Luke Shaw on the bench.
This backfired as United produced a lacklustre display.
He made four substitutions on 64 minutes, not long after Tielemans had restored Leicester's lead.
Solskjaer had told the BBC:
"We didn't have the spark tonight - but it's understandable. This team have been fantastic in the last three or four months.
"We played every three days and been on a great run. It just caught up with us - all the games and travels. Thursday night in Milan was a big night and took a lot of out of us physically."
What's stat?
Despite the poor performance, United actually had more possession and only marginally less shots on target.
The problems were ultimately brought on by a distinct lack of quality in both penalty areas. A lack of organisation in the back 4 and a lack of composure amongst the attackers aside from Mason Greenwood's goal.
What next for Ole and Manchester United?
Despite a much improved season, United now only have one realistic chance of a trophy. Manchester City are miles ahead in the Premier League but they do have a realistic route to glory in the Europa League.
