Reformed 36-team Champions League Could Be Agreed This Month

It is believed that plans for a reformed 36-team Champions League which would start in 2024 could be agreed by the end of this month.

Champions League Final 2011

It is expected that the final details - which includes how the four extra places will be allocated - to be resolved in the next couple of weeks.

This would mean an end to the talks about the European Super League.

We have previously discussed how Ed Woodward of Manchester United has backed these reforms.

Should these reforms take place, further discussion would happen around the impact on the English game. For example, would it mean an end to the EFL Cup?

Manchester City will of course be hoping to win the competition in its current format. They are still to win the competition but are huge favourites to qualify for the Quarter Final this season.
