The former Blackburn, Blackpool and Bradford manager has replaced Richie Wellens
The new manager told Salford's website:
"We want them to be playing aggressive football both with and without the ball, and have a right good go at these remaining 11 games. We have an opportunity like everybody else in this league to try and force our way into the reckoning to try and get into the play-offs.”

It has been an eventful few weeks for Salford City.
A few weeks ago, they won the re-arranged 2020 Papa John's trophy.
They are currently 9th in League Two and will still be confident that they can earn themselves a place in the League Two play-offs.
