Bolton boosted their promotion chances and became the first side to win away at Salford City this season.

Salford's top scorer Ian Henderson wasted an early chance for the home side but Bolton took their chance on the 23rd minute. Lloyd Isgrove scored what proved to be the only goal of the game.
Salford fought to get back into the game in front of co-owners Gary Neville, Nicky Butt and Ryan Giggs, as well as Manchester United captain Roy Keane.

Salford went onto dominate the second half but could not find a way through, Henderson heading over and Bolton defending brilliantly to block every other chance of danger.
The winner was greeted with huge celebration by Bolton players and coaches at the end of the game.
