Avro bounced back from their 2-1 defeat to Maine Road on Wednesday as they drew 1-1 with Oldham Athletic XI.
Avro soon had the ball in the back of the net thanks to a Louis Potts header but the lineman put his flag up for offside.
Avro’s first chance of the game came through trialist who was played through down the right before giving it to Liam Ellis in the box but he failed to trouble the keeper.
Following the half-time drinks break, Oldham had a good chance. They passed the ball about nicely around the Avro defence before giving it to their winger down the right before he was fouled and won a free-kick@AvroFC 1 V 1 @OfficialOAFC XI The last of the Pre-Season Friendlies for Avro and they look ready to go! Danny Hewitt created a good chance too, crossing the ball towards the back post but Ryan Pickford couldn’t get his head on it.
Jordan Latham was forced into making his first proper save of the game when Oldham shot from a tight angle to Jordan’s left.
Kai Haigh played through Liam Ellis just before half-time but he couldn’t quite get to the ball before the keeper.
With basically the last kick of the first half, Louis Potts saw the Oldham keeper off his line and shot from the half-way line, but he shot didn’t have enough power on it and petered out.
The referee blew for half-time.
Louis Potts had an easier chance early on in the second half, Oumar Camara gave the ball to him and he ran around a few Oldham defenders, got his shot off, but it went wide.
Oldham had their best chance of the game up to that point when their winger ran down the left, past 3 Avro players but put it wide from 5 yards out - a big let off for Avro.
