Bailey Sloane made his debut for Avro after being signed on loan from Chester.
AFC Liverpool scored first, Jonathan Croasdale getting their goal 30 minutes into the game. He rose above the Avro defence and headed it in from a corner.
Avro responded 10 minutes later, Liam Ellis just getting on the end of a cross and puttin the ball the AFC Liverpool keeper. AFC nearly got their second after swinging in a free-kick and getting a good head to the ball, but the linesman flagged for offside. The half-time whistle blew and it was 1-1 at JMO Sports Park.

Both sides really went for the game in the second half, with both keepers having good games as they denied opposition strikers.
With just 3 minutes left of normal time, Avro had a corner, whipped it in, hit the post but couldn’t put the ball in the net from the resulting goalmouth scramble and AFC cleared. Then, with the game deep into injury time, AFC Liverpool ran down the other end, crossed it in, and slotted the ball past Latham to make it 2-1 to AFC.
