Our thoughts:
After an extraordinary first match at Maine Road, United eventually progressed into the Fa Cup Final after winning the replay 2-1.

It was ultimately a memorable campaign for both sides. Oldham had two amazing cup runs and United would eventually go onto win their first trophy under Alex Ferguson and first overall since 1985.
The success probably gave Fergie some extra time with the United board as they could sense progress was finally being made despite a 13th place finish.
