Euro 2021: United And City Players Who Could Shine This Summer

Let’s have a look at the United and City that could shine for their countries during a busy summer of international football.

(Two Years Ago – Raheem Sterling put in a superb performance against Group D opponents Czech Republic)

Phil Foden

This is Foden’s first international tournament, and he is expected to be a key player for England. How good is he though? There have already been suggestions that he could go onto become an icon for club and country.

Raheem Sterling

Despite not having the best season for Manchester City, many people believe that Gareth Southgate still has a lot of faith in Sterling, and he could feature heavily in the upcoming tournament.

Luke Shaw

The Manchester United left-back was one of the best performers for his club during 2020/2021 and he is expected to be England’s first-choice left-back at the rearranged European Championships.

Kevin De Bruyne

City’s Belgian hero has had another great season and was recently named PFA Player of The Year. Belgium will need him to fully recover from his injury in the Champions League final if they want to meet some expectations and finally win their first international tournament.

Marcus Rashford

Despite some criticism, he still had a decent season for Manchester United. Although there have been suggestions that he might not start England’s first game, he will almost certainly have a part to play if England goes on to win the tournament.

What about the Copa America?

Euro 2020/2021 isn’t the only international tournament taking place this summer. Copa America brings together the best players from South America. Fred, Ederson and Gabriel Jesus are all in the Brazil squad. Edinson Cavani is also there with Uruguay.

Sick of football?

It has certainly been a long season so we understand if people want to take a break from the sport before the new season starts in August.
