He recently became the top scorer in European Championship history as his Portugal side beat Hungary. As always, this was a huge talking point on social media.

During his six years at Old Trafford, scored over 100 goals. His best season for the club came in 2007/2008 when he scored 42 goals in all competitions. He played a huge part in Manchester United winning the Premier League and Champions League.

Better than Lionel Messi though?
The big question is: Is he better than Lionel Messi? It's an impossible question to answer really. Let's have a look at some of the recent discussion on Twitter.
One Twitter user said: "Don’t want to hear anybody try tell me Messi is better than Ronaldo the man is one of a kind. The Goat."
Others have argued that they are both as good as each other. Perhaps we should appreciate that we are in a position to watc them both?
